StampRussia has an exhaustive list, with pictures, of all stamps from USSR / Russia that are related to geology, mining, minerals, oil drilling, geologists etc. The first stamp, that features oil wells, dates from 1933. Mining is a popular theme in Russian stamps.

 Having collected mineral stamps for many years I have yet to see any FDC for USSR Urals Minerals 1963 despite this being a  common issue, or on any cover in fact. Has anyone any info on this?
